Tab Vault — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Short version: Tab Vault keeps everything on your computer. We don't collect, receive, sell or share any of your data.

What Tab Vault stores

To save and restore your tabs, Tab Vault stores the web address (URL) and title of the tabs you save, plus periodic automatic snapshots of your open tabs (so you can recover them after a crash), and your preferences. All of this is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB and extension storage) on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Tab Vault has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no trackers. Your saved tabs never leave your device unless you choose to export them to a file yourself.

Permissions and why they're needed

Tab Vault does not read the content of any web page.

Favicons

Site icons are loaded from your browser's built-in favicon cache. No request is sent to us or to any third party for them.

Deleting your data

Delete groups inside Tab Vault (they're removed from the trash after 30 days, or immediately with “Empty trash”), or uninstall the extension to remove all of its data from your browser.

Future paid features

If we add optional features such as syncing through your own Google Drive, this policy will be updated before they launch, and they will be opt-in.

Children

Tab Vault is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
